What’s more groovy than a flanger? A new, smallerflanger, loaded with features and painted a bold psychedelicpurple….that’s what! Introducing the re-designedCarl Martin Axis Flanger. We simplified the controls togive you all the control you had with our Carl MartinClassic Flanger but reduced the size so you don’t haveto worry about leaving the Axis Flanger on your pedalboard‘cause you don’t have enough room’. Completewith a buffered Bypass footswitch for on and off control(indicated by an LED), Speed, Depth, Pre-delay andFeedback controls, the Axis Flanger comes in a machinedaluminum case finished in psychedelic purple, andthose cool Carl Martin graphics. The Axis Flanger mustbe powered by a regulated 9v Power Supply like theCarl Martin DC Factory, and like all the Carl Martin fxpedals, we use the best parts to make sure you get thebest sound! Watch out baby…the flange is back!

BYPASSFEEDBACK
The bypass switch, turn on/off the effect, the ClassicFlange is not "true bypass" it has a high quality buffercircuitry.

SPEED
The Speed knob controls the how fast the sweep of theflanger should be, in fast mode it can go very fast,sound is reminiscent of a vibe/leslie.At slowest the speed is very slow, provides a sweepthat stretches very wide, good for alternate rhythmfigures.Fast on slow setting is close to slowest on fast setting,so the speed has two modes to operate over.

DEPTH
The depth controls the amount of effect, it works closelytogether with the feedback, caution is needed atextreme settings,the unit will self oscillate when both controls are setclose to maximum.The Depth goes from subtle to extreme, and as mentionedearlier it works in tandem with the feedback control.

PRE-DELAY
The pre-delay sets the short delay time in whichthe Flanger operates, set to the extreme left it isthe shortest time available, and to the extremeright it is the longest time available. The Pre-Delay controls what frequencies the Flangeraccentuates and attenuates, as it is amoving filter that sweeps up and down followingthe Speed control. In other words, it sets theflavor of the Flangers tone, from very swirly torising and sinking curve, and everything inbetween.The changes in flavor is rather small, yet still animportant parameter to trim the flanging.This oneis difficult to describe in words, play around with,and find your favorite.

FEEDBACK
The feedback controls the amount of signal that getssend back through the sweepfilter, at low settings itgives a chorus like sound, increasing it will give it themore hollow ghostly sound, feeding some frequencies,and damping others, in other words it controls theamount of flanging needed for the effect, works closelywith the Depth, can be set into a controlled oscillationwhere the speed can be manipulated for fast or slowoscillations, acid stuff!
