Growth area: Tropical West Africa
Wood Description: The heartwood is yellowish in color with dark brown veins that run parallel to the axe. When the wood is quarter-sawn or cut, the famous zebra-like drawing appears where the wood gets its name. The brown veins occur at intervals of 5-10 mm and are 0.5-1.5 mm wide.
